Plans for Kandym fields development include a scope of activities for construction a unique production facility consisting of over 100 gas production wells, a collection system, a gas refining plant with expected capacity of 8.1 billion cubic meters/year, an export gas pipeline with a length of almost 60 km, a railway approach, a motor road network, water supply and external energy supply systems.
As part of the Kandym Early Gas project, the company has already built over 170 km of power lines, a power substation, over 180 km of pipelines, almost 240 km of fiber optic communication lines, 150 km of motor roads and 7 motor bridges.
For project implementation, the company used ENTER Engineering and Hyundai Engineering Construction as general contractors and IT Professional Solutions-Asia as a system integrator. IT infrastructure was implemented in parallel with construction of other 17 facilities in the fields.
Infrastructure built includes almost 20 servers, around 50 radio stations, 250 loud speakers, almost 240 km of fiber optic communication lines, etc.
The Kandym group of fields is located in a zone with severe climatic conditions: severe winters, hot dry summers, sharp temperature fluctuations within a 24-hour period, and sand storms. Therefore, specialists used solutions which ensure reliable operation of IT infrastructure within the described climatic conditions. In addition, natural gas produced at Kandym group fields has a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide which requires that technical regulations applicable in Uzbekistan and international standards are strictly adhered to when an asset is designed, constructed and operated.
IT Professional Solutions-Asia successfully integrated both telecom and IT systems at all new field facilities constructed by different EPC contractors and solutions with asset operator corporate information systems. This approach, in which IT infrastructure is created by a single system integrator with industry expertise has helped to lay a reliable IT foundation for effective operation of the fields within a specified timeframe.
IT Professional Solutions-Asia’s close cooperation with all project stakeholders and its comprehensive approach to the project resulted in the construction of a high-quality IT infrastructure as part of the investment program.
As the project had a very tight schedule, different activities were performed in parallel. Thus, the materials were procured at the same time as the systems were developed.
To ensure effective use of the implemented systems, engineers stayed at the fields during the trial operation period. In this period, they continued training and providing support to customer personnel and adjusted the system configuration taking into account the customer’s feedback.
